Whale Tale

Let me tell you a tale, the tale of a whale,

a whale of a tale of a whale with two tails.

This whale we'll call Dale, once caught up in a gale,

a monstrous gale that brought strong wind and hail.

As he rose to inhale, he could see a torn sail,

a distress and a panic, and startling wail!

He knew he must act and must do it full-scale;

This ship was in peril and destined to fail!

The water was filling, the captain would bail,

making him weary, exhausted, and frail.

He reached for that rope at the pace of a snail,

cautious he was, so that he would prevail.

Balance that ship on his back, did that whale,

leading it off with the strength of those tails.

Then reaching for land and escaping that gale,

he swam and he swam on that watery trail.

When he was still young, all the others would flail,

as they laughed and they joked at this whale with two tails.

But now, as a hero, they all would detail,

That day in that harbor, the ship and that gale.

The captain kept quiet, would never unveil

this story, this legend, this friend he called Dale.

No one would believe him, this tallest of tales,

this whale of a tale of a whale with two tails.

The Little Girl

I came across a little girl, one cold December day,

a look of pain etched on her face, revealing her dismay.

I couldn’t help but noticing a tear fall on her cheek,

her hands began to tremble, as her knees were growing weak.

She tried to part her lips and speak, but nothing could be heard.

A gasp of air escaped her mouth in place of any word.

She fell down on her knees upon that cold and icy snow,

as I draped her with my coat because that wind began to blow.

No cheer this year, she finally spoke with all the strength she had,

so much is going wrong for me, and now I've lost my dad.

She folded both her hands, and then I saw her start to pray,

looking for a miracle that dark and gloomy day.

It only took a moment, and a cloud began to part,

a beam of light shot down and hit directly on her heart.

Her body started glowing, and that teardrop was erased,

the smile forming on her lips put joy back on her face.

A puff of wind blew through her hair, and I was struck in awe,

the beauty overtook me from this miracle I saw.

When she turned to look at me, it came as no surprise,

so deep in that reflection, I saw Jesus in her eyes.

He's safe, she said, he is not lost and right where he belongs,

dancing with the angels now and joining them in songs.

She threw her arms around my neck, embracing me with love,

reminding me of lessons that were sent from up above.

We are all connected from the depths of every soul,

In this miracle of life, we each will play a vital role.

Believe in yourself

Believe in yourself, like only you can,

It starts in your mind and ends in your hand,

If you say you can't, then you never will.

When you say you're sick, that’s how you will feel.

If you say you're tired, your energy drains.

When you say that hurts, your mind will bring pain.

Your brain is amazing. Believe in this fact,

it is not a rumor, a lie, or an act.

Just turn off the world and sit with your mind,

Focus on that which your heart longs to find.

Freedom from finance, or love and great health,

will all be achieved if you believe in yourself.
